Getting Paid in Your Own Currency, Wherever You Bank

If you have ever been part of a referral scheme run out of another country, you will know the shape of the annoyance. The reward is quoted in someone else's money, it gets converted at a rate you cannot see on a day you did not choose, and the amount that lands is never quite the amount on the page.

The Vehiso Referral Programme does not do that. It pays in pounds, dollars or euros, matching whatever currency you are already billed in, and it never converts between them.

This post is for dealers outside the UK, and for anyone wondering whether the numbers in our other referral posts apply to them.

You earn in the currency you are billed in

If Vehiso bills you in euros, you earn in euros. Not the euro value of a sterling figure, converted on the day. Euros.

That works because of something slightly unusual about how our plans are priced: each currency has its own price list rather than being converted from one. The Starter plan is £49, or $59, or €59. Those are three separate prices for the same plan, not one price seen through three exchange rates.

Which means the ten per cent comes off a real number in your own money:

Plan GBP USD EUR
Starter £49, earning £4.90 $59, earning $5.90 €59, earning €5.90
Growth £79, earning £7.90 $89, earning $8.90 €89, earning €8.90
Business £149, earning £14.90 $189, earning $18.90 €179, earning €17.90
Ultra £199, earning £19.90 $249, earning $24.90 €239, earning €23.90

Note that dollars and euros are not the same at the top two tiers. They are separate price lists, so they diverge. Current prices are always on the pricing page.

Everything else about the programme works identically wherever you are: ten per cent of each plan payment excluding tax, for the referred dealer's first six months, held for thirty days before it becomes available.

Two of the three routes work everywhere

There are three ways to take referral money. Two of them have no geography attached at all.

Invoice credit comes off your next Vehiso bill, in your billing currency, automatically. No minimum, nothing to set up, and no bank involved at any point. If you are billed in euros, your euro earnings reduce your euro invoice.

Wallet credit goes into your Vehiso wallet and spends on the pay-as-you-go tools: AI descriptions and image tools, Photo Studio, valuations, SMS. Also in your own currency, also with no minimum.

Both of these work in every country we operate in, because the money never leaves Vehiso. If you are reading this from anywhere at all, those two routes are open to you.

Cash withdrawals reach 53 countries

The third route, cash to your bank account, is the one with a map behind it.

Payouts run through Stripe, who can pay into local bank accounts in 53 countries. That covers the UK, most of Europe, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, and a good deal more besides.

If your country is on that list, you enter your bank details with Stripe directly and withdraw once you have enough available.

If it is not, you will see the other two routes on your account page with an explanation of why the third is missing, rather than a button that takes your details and then fails. That distinction matters more than it sounds. Nothing is more irritating than filling in an international bank form to be told at the end that it was never going to work.

What a cross-border payout costs

Where a payout has to cross a border, or change currency on the way, the fee is larger than a domestic transfer. That is the banking system, not a Vehiso charge, and there is no way around it.

Two things we do about it. The fee comes out of the withdrawal rather than being billed separately, so you are never chasing an invoice for the privilege of being paid. And the account page tells you what it will be before you commit, not after.

The minimum withdrawal is £25. If you are billed in dollars or euros, check the equivalent figure shown on your own account page rather than converting that in your head.

As with every withdrawal on the programme, a person reviews it before it is sent, so allow a day or two rather than expecting it instantly.

Which route to pick if you are outside the UK

The short version, and there is a longer one in wallet, invoice or bank:

If you pay Vehiso a monthly bill, invoice credit is almost always the right answer wherever you are. It is instant, it has no minimum, and it involves no cross-border anything. Your earnings simply reduce what you pay.

If you use the AI tools heavily, wallet credit turns referral earnings into more of them. Worth knowing that wallet balance cannot later be converted to cash, so choose it because you want the tools.

Cash makes sense when you have built up a meaningful balance and want it out of the system, and it is worth waiting until the amount is large enough that the transfer fee is a small share of it rather than withdrawing the minimum repeatedly.

One more thing on cash specifically: how a referral payout is treated for tax depends on where you are and how your business is set up. We are not able to advise on that, so have a word with your accountant before you assume it is straightforward income.

Sign in to Vehiso, open Billing, then Referral Programme. Your link, your code and your balance are all on that page, shown in your own currency.

The full rules, including the payout terms, are in the Referral Programme Terms. For the programme from the beginning, start with the introduction.
