Vehiso

Switch your dealer website to Vehiso without starting again

Give us the address of your current website. Vehiso recognizes your provider, brings your vehicles and your wording across, and forwards your old addresses to your new site, so links and search results keep working.

How moving to Vehiso works

It runs while you set up your new website. Most of it happens on its own: you check the results and decide when to go live.

  1. Tell us your current website

When you sign up, enter the address of the site you are moving away from. You can also start the move later from setup.

  2. We recognize your provider

Vehiso reads your homepage and recognizes which provider your site runs on, so you know straight away that we can move it.

  3. We read your vehicles

We find the vehicles listed on your site and read their details and photos. You check them and choose what comes across.

  4. We bring your wording across

We read your pages and fill in the next setup steps with what we found, ready for you to check and change.

  5. We forward your old addresses

Once your vehicles are in, we match the addresses on your old site to pages on your new one, automatically.

  6. Point your domain when you are ready

When you are happy with the new site, point your domain at it. Until then your old site carries on exactly as it is.

Pull your stock from your existing website

You do not need to retype a single vehicle. Vehiso reads the vehicles on your current site, with their details and photos, and lines them up for you to check.

Your site blocks robots, or lists no vehicles? Bring your stock in another way: AutoTrader · Stock feeds

Every vehicle we find is shown to you before anything is added to your stock
You choose which vehicles come across, and can leave out any you have sold
Progress shows as it runs, and you can carry on setting up while it works
If it stops part way, you keep what was read and can read the site again

Redirects set up for you, automatically

Your old site's addresses are in Google results, in old adverts and in customers' bookmarks. turns each one it can match into a permanent (301) redirect to the right page on your new site, which is how search engines know a page has moved rather than gone.

You can see every redirect in your website settings, change where any of them goes, remove one, or add your own by picking a page from a list or typing an address. Redirects only ever point to your own website, and a page you create later always takes priority over an old address with the same path.

Vehicle pages
Each old vehicle page goes to the same vehicle on your new site while it is for sale, and to your stock list once it has sold.
Vehicles you already had
A vehicle you did not bring across is matched by its registration to one already in your stock.
Your other pages
About us, contact, finance, trade-in, reviews, warranty and servicing pages are matched to their new equivalents by name.
Whole sections
Your old vehicle section as a whole goes to your stock list, so links to vehicles that sold before you moved still land somewhere useful.

Works with most major providers

We can migrate automatically from most major car dealer website providers. If your current site lists your vehicles on its own pages, we can almost always bring them across.

How we read your old site

Your current site is run by your current provider, so we read it the way a visitor would and leave it exactly as we found it.

Public pages only
We read what a visitor's browser sees. We never log in, submit a form or use your provider's own systems.
We follow robots.txt
If your site asks robots not to read its vehicle pages, we do not, and we show you other ways to bring your stock in.
Nothing changes until you say
We change nothing on your old site or your domain. You decide when visitors start seeing the new one.

Before you switch

  • Check the notice period in your contract with your current provider, and cancel only once your domain points at your new site.
  • Keep your old site live while you set up. Moving to Vehiso does not touch it.
  • If your email runs on the same domain, keep its email records as they are when you change where the domain points.
  • If your site blocks robots, have your AutoTrader account or stock feed ready to bring your vehicles in.
